Exciting New Exhibition by Jan Harbon

3-14 September 2010

Preview 2nd September 5:30 - 8:00

Jan Harbon

Jan has been a popular artist at The Market Street Gallery and we are delighted to host a solo exhibition of her new works.
Featuring originals and limited edition prints on paper and canvas, Jan captures the beauty of flowers in breathtaking detail—images that are so delicate and yet so real you can almost smell the perfume.  In addition to Jan’s trademark flowers, the exhibition will also features images of birds, animals and even vegetables.
One of her most popular painting techniques includes using handmade papers with gold and metal leaf, which she describes as an ‘organic’ method since the images grow out of the multi-layered base.
In the last 10 years she has exhibited widely as a member of the Society of Floral Painters (award of Excellence 2005), at the Society of Botanical Artists Exhibition (Certificate of Botanical Merit 2006, President's Award 2007, Public Award 2009), at the Royal Horticultural Society (Silver Gilt Medal), and in mixed and solo exhibitions in galleries across the country. The smaller animal and flower paintings are reproduced frequently as Limited Edition prints and greetings cards for a variety of publishers ensuring her work is now recognised internationally.
An exhibition not to be missed.  Contact us for details of our private preview evening on Thursday 2 September 2010.
